MAIN RESULTS As a result of studying plant genetic resources, more than 120 genes and loci associated with growth and development, resistance to biotic and abiotic stress, technological properties and dietary value were identified, mapped and labeled. The results were included in the world catalog of wheat gene symbols. Technologies for accelerated selection of grain crops were patented and implemented in breeding programs. In 2024, a wheat variety obtained with their help was registered. For the first time in Russia, an agricultural plant was edited. For the first time in the world, the possibility of modifying the genome of a non-model barley variety using the CRISPR/Cas genome editing system was demonstrated.
